Piola: A Must-Visit Destination for Pizza Lovers and Good Times

Piola, the Italian pizzeria, has revolutionized the traditional concept of public dining and has a special place in the hearts of many in Buenos Aires. The Carniato brothers opened their first location in 1986 in the picturesque city of Treviso, northern Italy. Their vision was to offer high-quality food served with warmth and in a casual environment, along with international cocktails to accompany it.

Buenos Aires was fortunate to be the first city outside of Italy where Piola opened its doors in April 1993, changing the way service was provided and redefining the city's gastronomy scene. Piola quickly became a benchmark in the industry, with experts and critics considering it a turning point in Buenos Aires' culinary history.

For the past 30 years, Piola has welcomed many guests at its tables, and many have become regular customers and friends. The pizzeria has been a pioneer in promoting inclusion and diversity, always welcoming everyone with open arms.

Personally, I have a deep connection with Piola, as it's the go-to pizza place for all my friends and family when going out. The funky atmosphere, with nice art on the walls, adds to the dining experience, and the menu offers a wide selection of pizzas and an excellent choice of wines and cocktails.

Piola's 30th anniversary celebration was an unforgettable event. The happiness of the Piola family was palpable in the air, and the dishes served were a testament to their passion and commitment to their craft. During the celebration, Rafael Cini, a tenor, stole the show with his charismatic personality and a selection of Italian music, from Ruggiero Leoncavallo's Matinatta to Curtis brothers' Torna Sonata. His singing was an absolute joy to listen to and added to the warm and inviting atmosphere of Piola.

Piola offers over 40 different pizza options that can be customized to your liking, making it difficult to agree on which pizza to have. Still, one of my personal favorites is their potato gnocchi with Sorrento sauce, which I can never resist ordering.

Despite the challenges of the past 30 years, Piola has remained open thanks to its dedicated team, loyal customers, and friends. As the program says, "Piola... Da sempre un classico!" Piola is a classic that continues to reinvent itself and leave a lasting impression on those who visit. Live music events like Rafael Cini's performance add to the unique dining experience that sets Piola apart from others, making it an unforgettable destination for food lovers.
